Cambridge undergraduate studying Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology. I have always had a great passion for all things STEM. This is why I chose to study Chemical Engineering as it contains many different aspects of STEM. My passion for the subjects that I teach allows me to teach them in an effective and engaging manner leading to better results for my students. I am a clear and effective communicator and I am able to teach people of all backgrounds and abilities.
I structure my lessons by first determining where the student is struggling or has gaps in their knowledge. I then decide whether I need to reteach them content or if we can go in to doing practice questions straight away and really refine and solidfy their understanding. I will measure their progress in these practice questions over multiple lessons to see what areas we need to focus on and to make sure they are actually progressing. Throughout this I will make the lessons engaging by asking the students frequency questions. As well as this I will teach them the same studying and revision techniques that allowed me to succeed in my exams.
Tristan tutored me in GCSE Maths, Physics and Chemistry and took me from a grade 6 to a grade 8 in all three. They found the gaps in my understanding quickly, explained things in a way that actually stuck, and were brilliant on exam technique and past papers. Patient, well-organised and genuinely good at the jump from solid to top grades — highly recommended.
