Lesson reports

A short report after every lesson

In the last 5 minutes of a Cookie Tutoring lesson your tutor writes what you covered and what to work at next, and it stays with the lesson for you, and a parent who books for you, to read.

  1. The lesson ends

Your tutor writes a short report, and what to keep working at can become homework straight away.

  2. Homework goes to cookie

Flashcards, practice questions, a past paper or notes, done on cookie between lessons.

  3. Practice moves the topic scores

Every marked answer, flashcard rating and past-paper question counts towards a score for its topic.

  4. The next lesson starts there

With progress shared, your tutor sees each topic weakest first, so the next lesson can start where it is needed.

A sample week between lessons, as the tutor sees it. After a lesson on moles the tutor has filed a report. Press Set homework from this to set flashcards and a past paper on cookie; the student does both, the score for moles rises but stays the weakest, and the tutor plans to start the next lesson with it.

What you get from a lesson report

Four short answers, written by your tutor while the lesson is fresh.

Four plain headings

“Today we covered”, “I was impressed by”, “We'll keep working at” and “Next time we'll cover”.

Sent to the family

The student is emailed when a report is filed, and so is a parent or guardian who looks after their lessons.

Homework from it

Once the student shares their progress on cookie, what to keep working at can become homework there straight away.

How lesson reports work

  1. 1Written at the end of the lessonThe report opens for your tutor 5 minutes before the end, inside the time you have paid for, and stays open if the lesson runs over.
  2. 2Filed with the lessonOnce filed, the tutor can correct it for 24 hours, and after that it is fixed as part of the record.
  3. 3The next lesson starts from itWith progress shared on cookie, your tutor sees each topic weakest first and can begin where it is needed.

Lesson reports FAQ

Who can read a lesson report?

The tutor, the student, and a parent, guardian or sponsor who looks after the student’s lessons. Nobody sees it until the tutor files it.

Where do I find a lesson report?

On the lesson in your lessons page, and in your messages with the tutor. You are also emailed when it is filed, and you can turn that email off in your settings.

Does every lesson get a report?

Tutors are asked to write one in the last 5 minutes of each lesson. It is not compulsory, so an intro or a very short lesson may not have one.

Can a report be changed after it is filed?

For 24 hours, so a tutor can fix a mistake. After that it is fixed, so what a family has read does not change later.

Is the report written by AI?

No. Your tutor writes it in their own words, under the same four headings for every lesson.

Know what each lesson covered

Each report is on your lessons page, beside the lesson it belongs to.
