Online tutors for students in Dubai
Schools in Dubai teach the British, IB, American and Indian curricula side by side, so one family can need IGCSE help one year and the IB the next. Cookie Tutoring is online and covers all four, with every lesson time shown in UAE time, which is three hours ahead of the UK in summer and four in winter.
Our tutors
Practise between lessons, free
We also build cookie, the revision app, and every student and every tutor here gets it at no extra cost. This is what it has to use between lessons.
- Practice questionsExam-style questions from your notes or the specification, marked with partial credit and a worked solution.
- Past papersThe boards’ own papers and mark schemes, with grade boundaries, and you can do one in cookie with a timer.
- FlashcardsCards that come back just before you would forget them, including decks other students have shared.
- NotesRevision notes people have shared, to read, download or add to your own and turn into flashcards.
- Revision planSpreads your topics and papers out over the weeks before each exam, around your lessons.
Four curricula in one city
British-curriculum schools sit IGCSE or GCSE and then A-Levels, IB schools the Diploma, American schools AP courses and the SAT, and Indian schools CBSE Class 10 and 12. Each has its own exam boards and its own calendar, and a tutor needs to know which one a student is on before planning anything.
Find a tutor filters by level and exam board, so you can look for exactly the course your child sits.
After school in Dubai is lunchtime in the UK
A 5pm lesson in Dubai is 2pm in the UK in summer and 1pm in winter, which suits tutors who are at university or working flexibly. Tutors publish the hours they are free in their own time, and every slot you see is converted into UAE time, so nobody has to work out the difference.
Common questions
Do you tutor the British curriculum taught in Dubai schools?
Yes: IGCSE and GCSE, then A-Level, across the boards British-curriculum schools use, including Cambridge International, Pearson Edexcel and AQA.
Do you cover CBSE?
Yes, Class 10 and Class 12, as well as the IB, AP and the SAT. Each tutor lists the courses and levels they teach.
Do I pay in dirhams?
No, rates are set and paid in pounds, from £30 an hour, and your bank handles the conversion. Most tutors offer a free 15-minute introduction first.
Are lessons at times that work in the UAE?
Every available slot is shown in UAE time. Dubai is three hours ahead of the UK in summer and four in winter, so after-school lessons fall in the UK afternoon.
What happens in a lesson?
A lesson is live and one to one, in a room in your browser: video both ways, a shared whiteboard with proper maths notation, a graph plotter and screen sharing, on a laptop, tablet or phone with nothing to install. The tutor can put questions, notes and past papers on the board, and you can photograph your written work with your phone to put it there. The board is kept for 365 days, so either of you can open it again, print it or make notes, flashcards or questions from it, and the tutor writes a short report afterwards.

How it works here
We are selective about who teaches here: we look for tutors at top universities, we read every application ourselves, and everybody completes an identity check before they are listed. Lessons run in the browser with live video and a shared whiteboard. Rates start at £30 an hour, most tutors offer a free 15-minute intro and their profile says so, and every student gets cookie's study software at no extra cost.
