Class 10 tutors
A Class 10 tutor works one-to-one on the board exams a student in India sits at the end of Class 10, for CBSE or the CISCE’s ICSE, on the student’s own syllabus. Lessons are online with a shared whiteboard, and every time on the site is shown in the student’s own timezone.

- Revision planSpreads your topics and papers out over the weeks before each exam, around your lessons.
Working from the board’s own papers
CBSE publishes sample question papers and marking schemes each year, and its questions now include more that test applying an idea rather than recalling it. A tutor works through those papers with a student and marks answers the way the scheme does.
Maths and science are the most common subjects, then English, social science and the languages a student takes.
One-to-one beside school
Most students have tutoring alongside school rather than instead of it, so a tutor follows the order the school teaches the syllabus in and fills the gaps a student brings to each lesson.

Common questions
Do tutors teach ICSE as well as CBSE?
Yes. Both are offered under Class 10, and a tutor’s profile says which board they know.
Are lessons in Indian time?
Yes. Every time on the site is shown in your own timezone, and tutors set the hours they are free, so you choose a time that suits you.
Can a tutor use the CBSE sample papers?
Yes. They are published each year with marking schemes, and working through them is the backbone of most lessons before the board exams.
How much does a Class 10 tutor cost?
From £30 an hour, set by each tutor and shown on their profile, and priced in pounds, so a bank outside the UK may add a conversion fee. Most tutors offer a free 15-minute intro, and their profile says so.
What happens in a lesson?
A lesson is live and one to one, in a room in your browser: video both ways, a shared whiteboard with proper maths notation, a graph plotter and screen sharing, on a laptop, tablet or phone with nothing to install. The tutor can put questions, notes and past papers on the board, and you can photograph your written work with your phone to put it there. The board is kept for 365 days, so either of you can open it again, print it or make notes, flashcards or questions from it, and the tutor writes a short report afterwards.

How it works here
We are selective about who teaches here: we look for tutors at top universities, we read every application ourselves, and everybody completes an identity check before they are listed. Lessons run in the browser with live video and a shared whiteboard. Rates start at £30 an hour, most tutors offer a free 15-minute intro and their profile says so, and every student gets cookie's study software at no extra cost.
